Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) is located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh and is a medical institute in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, under the Legislature Act of the Government of India and a specialized hospital in India. SVIMS is established like the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi, and is created by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh. This university was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao on 18 April 1986.
The hospital started functioning from 2 February 1993 and became a medical institution under the State Legislature Act in 1995. The current director Drs. B. Vengamma is. Ranking Framework (NIRF) at National Institutional Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences has been ranked 72 and ranked 77 among universities and 29th in medical rankings in 2019. Four and a half year college M.B.B.S. Course with one year compulsory rotating internship. There are 175 seats in this university which are filled through NEET UG examination.
