Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana
Kishore Vigyan Yojana (English: Youth Scientific Incentive Scheme) (KVPY) is a scholarship program established by a scientist from India and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, aimed at encouraging students Started to pursue research career in the areas of basic sciences. It offers scholarships and contingency grants to students up to pre-Ph.D. Levels to selected students. The institute was started in 1999, and is administered by the Indian Institute of Science.
Students who qualify in the KVPY exam are eligible on the basis of fellowship as well as additional criteria for admission to institutions like IISc and IISER. There are 3 sections in this exam: SA (class 11), SX (class 12), and SB (first year BSc). Students who have passed the KVPY examination are eligible for the fellowship. Students receive fellowships from year 1 onwards after their graduation (science field).
