King George Medical University Lucknow is in Uttar Pradesh, a medical school, hospital and medical university based in India. On 16 September 2002, the medical school was upgraded into a medical university by an organization act by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The MBBS course takes four and a half years to complete and it consumes 250 students every year. The foundation of King George Medical College was named in 1906 by King George V. The college opened its gates in 1911, although the official opening ceremony was delayed in January 1912. The college was directly under the government of the United Provinces and degrees were awarded through the University of Allahabad. And this college was transferred to Lucknow University in 1921.
