Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan
The Government of India launched the Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan (GKRA) initiative to deal with the impact of COVID-19 on labor (migrant) workers in India. It is a rural public works scheme launched by the Government of India on 20 June 2020 (with an initial fund of US $ 50,000 crore). GKRA targets 670,000 migrant workers Employment is 125 days, about two-thirds of the total migrant labor force which has gone back to rural areas. The scheme is located in six states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha and Jharkhand and 116 districts. Districts are involved. The scheme is a joint scheme by 12 different ministries / departments and includes 25 types of activities.
