Birla Institute of Technology and Science is located at Pilani and is a private deemed university in India. It mainly focuses on higher education and research in engineering and science. After the expansion of a campus in Dubai, it has become the first international deemed university, a pioneer in science, engineering and research, with 4 established campuses and 15 academic departments. This institute was established in 1964. During this period, there is also a regional engineering college and the transformation of the institute into a national university was supported by GD Birla. The university has expanded its campuses from Pilani to Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai, having established its branch in many places. Having been a highly successful student in various fields and through networks, BITS Pilani has made a significant impact on corporates, education, research, entrepreneurship, arts and social activism. Aditya Birla University is dedicated by many groups and is one of the first six institutes to be awarded the Institute of Eminence State in 2018. BITS conducts All India Computerized Entrance Examination, BITSAT (BITS Entrance Examination). Admission is purely assessed by the BITSAT exam.
